Poéma Community Standards

Version: EA-1.3 (early access). Last updated: October 6, 2026.

Poéma Circle works because Members and Verified Poéma Professionals feel safe asking questions, sharing knowledge and speaking from experience. These Community Standards describe what good participation looks like here. They apply to everyone, Members and Verified Poéma Professionals alike.

Respectful Discussion and Disagreement

Health topics are personal, and sometimes contested. You may disagree with established guidance, with each other, or with a Verified Poéma Professional. Disagreement expressed respectfully and in good faith is welcome and valuable. Personal attacks, mockery, contempt and bad-faith arguing are not.

Professional and Intellectual Freedom

Poéma protects the freedom to share established knowledge, professional interpretation, emerging ideas, reasoned minority viewpoints, practical observations and informed opinions. A community where only uncontested consensus could be spoken would be far less useful. What we ask in return is honesty about what a statement is based on and how certain it is.

No Harassment, Abuse, Exploitation, Threats or Unlawful Discrimination

Harassment, abuse, exploitation, threats of harm and unlawful discrimination are never permitted, regardless of the topic or who the target is.

Your Display Name

You choose the name other Members see. It can be your real name or a name you choose. Display names may not include credentials, professional titles or reserved words (for example RN, MD, Dr., or “Poéma”). Verified Poéma Professionals show their credentials as badges after Poéma confirms them.

Protecting Personal and Health Information

Health information is sensitive. Poéma Circle is members-only, but other Members can see what you post, and a display name does not make a post private. Share your own information thoughtfully.

Other People’s Information

Do not post another person’s private or health information without appropriate permission. This applies whether that person is a Member, a professional, or someone outside Poéma entirely.

Speaking From Your Own Experience

When you share a personal health experience, speak from your own experience rather than presenting it as a universal result. What helped you may not help, or may not be safe for, someone else.

Professionals Teach, They Don’t Treat

Everything on Poéma is education. Verified Poéma Professionals share knowledge here; they do not provide care here. If you need care for your own situation, a Professional may point you to their own practice or suggest you talk with your own healthcare professional. That care happens outside Poéma, between you and them.

No Individualized Diagnosis, Prescribing, Treatment Direction or Emergency Advice

General knowledge, perspective and experience are welcome. Do not diagnose another Member, prescribe or recommend specific medications or dosages, direct someone’s treatment, or attempt to manage an emergency here. Encourage people to speak with a qualified healthcare professional about their own situation, and to call 911 or local emergency services in an emergency.

No Deceptive Claims or Fabricated Sources

Do not make deceptive or knowingly false health claims. Do not fabricate sources, misattribute them, or misrepresent what a source actually says, including presenting personal opinion as established evidence, or presenting contested or emerging information as settled.

No Impersonation or False Credentials

Do not impersonate anyone, and do not claim credentials, qualifications or a professional title you do not hold. Only people who complete Poéma’s verification process may present themselves as a Verified Poéma Professional.

No Improper Advertising, Solicitation, Spam or Exploitation

Poéma Circle is a community space, not an advertising channel. Do not spam, solicit improperly, run repeated unsolicited outreach, use high-pressure sales tactics, or exploit other Members commercially.

Disclose Relevant Commercial and Professional Conflicts

If you have a financial interest, commercial relationship, employment tie or other relevant conflict connected to what you are posting about, say so in the post. You can describe the relationship in general terms; Verified Poéma Professionals do not name organizations they do not own.

No HIPAA-Regulated Patient-Care Activity

Poéma is not a clinical system and must not be used for HIPAA-regulated patient-care activity. Verified Poéma Professionals must not invite patients here for clinical communication or use the Service to deliver care.

No Patient Records or Clinical Communication

Do not request, post, transmit or store identifiable patient information, medical records, prescriptions, treatment plans or referrals anywhere on the Service. You may share your own health information, such as a test result, in a screenshot or photo, as long as nothing in it could identify you or anyone else, such as names, birth dates, record numbers, addresses, barcodes or healthcare organization names.

Images and Screenshots

Screenshots are welcome for things like products, prices, places to find products, process flows, charts and graphs. Please do not post screenshots of articles. Articles are protected by copyright, so share a link and describe it in your own words. Follow copyright law with anything you post, and give credit to the source.

Do not upload images of body parts, yours or anyone else’s. If you want to point to a picture of a sign or symptom, link to one on a public website instead. Before you post any image, check it for names, faces and other details that could identify someone.

Reporting and Review

If something doesn’t seem right, choose Report a concern. You’ll find it in the ⋯ menu on Circle posts and replies, and at the end of Library lessons and Professional pages. Reports go privately to the Poéma team, and the author won’t see who sent them. Most reports don’t get an individual reply. If you’d like one, or if something feels serious, choose “Yes, I’d like a response” and we’ll follow up.

Poéma reviews reports and may also conduct random, targeted or report-driven reviews. We are not obligated to review everything, and the absence of a review does not mean content has been approved.

We Unpublish, We Don’t Edit

Poéma never edits anyone’s content. If something doesn’t meet these Standards, we unpublish it and tell the author which standards it didn’t meet. The author is welcome to fix it and repost it, and will be asked to say briefly what they changed. Reposted content goes live right away. Poéma is notified when content is reposted and may unpublish it again.

Account Actions

Depending on what happened and how serious it is, we may ask for a clarification or correction, unpublish content, limit certain account features, suspend an account or terminate an account. A Verified Poéma Professional may also have verified status restricted or removed.

Asking Us to Reconsider

If you think we made the wrong call, email founder@poemahealth.com and ask us to look again. We will review it and reply. This is a lightweight, good-faith process.

Reading and Listening Count

You do not have to post to belong here. Reading, listening and learning from the community, without ever posting, is a valid and welcome way to take part in Poéma Circle.

Verified Poéma Professional

Poéma confirmed this person’s identity and professional license.

We verify at the license level. Specialty certifications aren’t checked yet.

Pros share their own professional views to help you learn. Poéma doesn’t review or endorse every post, and nothing here replaces care from your own healthcare professional.
